REVERIE
“I felt caught up in a reverie of years long past” (William Styron) Emmett, Garry and I have all loved this book ever since it was given to us on a visit to Poland in 1981. “Thinking in English” was written by Leon Leszek Szkutnik and published in Warsaw in 1975. The copyright dates from 1973 and the name of the man, who gave it to us, Jaroslaw Kozlowski, is stamped onto the title page. The book was intended for intelligent people learning English and the short texts are arranged in two columns, with the English on the left and the Polish explanations on the right. They are poetic, philosophical and amusing all at the same time. The photographs on which they are composed are my own, taken over the last five years on a CANON EOS digital camera. They are downloaded into the computer, the texts are added and they are printed with a PIXMA Pro 9500 machine on CANSON Montval Aquarelle paper. I do everything myself, although the inspiration for the series did come from Mr. Szkutnik.
